Harry G. Boydstun of Durant, OK went HOME on the wings of Grace to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the age of 91. Harry was born in Caddo, Ok on December 16, 1923 to Alfred Emmett Boydstun and Viola Marie (Ware) Boydstun. He graduated from Caddo High School and attended Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma Baptist University and Southwestern Theological Seminary. Harry joined the Army Air Corp in 1942 and served during WWII where he received a Purple Heart. He married Corinne O. Tubbs in Shawnee, OK on September 26, 1947. They moved to Bryan County in October 2010 coming from Newcastle, OK. Harry was a Baptist pastor for over 50 years. He liked gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family and church family. His greatest love was studying and sharing the Gospel of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers Alfred Emmett Boydstun II, Robert Lee Boydstun, Ernest Boydstun, and Frank Boydstun.
Harry is survived by his wife of 67 years Corinne Boydstun of the home, one son Harry George Boydstun II and wife Janice of Durant, OK, seven daughters Harriet W. Ludrick and husband Burt of Kingston, OK, Elizabeth A. Mackey and husband Don of Temple, TX, Mary Diane Sammons and husband David of Edmond, OK, Sarah Ruth Renfro and husband Jack of Broomfield, CO, Corinne E. Lambeth of Edmond, Marsha K. Chitwood and husband Don of Belton, TX, and Carrie R. Shipley and husband Bret of Deer Creek, OK, one sister Mary Elizabeth Davidson of Lutherville Timonium, MD, one brother Joe Boydstun of Oklahoma City, OK and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Ann Nickell and husband Maurice of Midwest City, OK, 39 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren and one on the way.
Celebration services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11th at Calvary Baptist Church, Durant, OK with the family officiating. Family hour will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Brown's Funeral Service Durant. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Brad Ludrick, Josh Mackey, Myles Sammons, Jesse Boydstun, Ethan Renfro, David Lambeth, Jonathan Smith and Perry Olsen.
