Harry Lee Bradley

November 29, 1946 / February 03, 2023

Harry Lee Bradley departed this life in the early morning hours of Friday, February 03, 2023 at the age of 76 in Cypress, Texas.  He was a true Texan, born in Houston on November 29, 1946.  He was named after his maternal grandfather, Harry Robinson.  His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges despite his limitations.  Harry came out a hero and stayed strong.  Ultimately, our Lord had better things in mind for him.

After high school and college, Harry joined the US Navy during the Vietnam Era and served his country from January 1967 until October 1970.  He was commissioned to the USS Hancock as an Aviation Fuel Repair & Fuel Operator.  He traveled to the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sasebo, Japan in 1968 – 1969.  During his service, Harry received five medals and he loved God and his Country until his last earthly day.  As a member of the USS Hancock Association, he remained in touch with old shipmates attending many reunions over the years.  After his stint in the US Navy, Harry was in jewelry sales and design.  In the 1970’s, he received his Real Estate license and became a Real Estate Agent, thus beginning his long career in Real Estate.  Over the years, he was an ERA Real Estate Franchise Owner with numerous agents, a Mortgage Loan Officer and lastly, Credit Repair, fully retiring his company in 2021.

In 1977, Harry married his wife, Judy, and two years later, they had their beloved daughter, Dr. Melissa Bradley. Harry never met a stranger.  He was a true gentleman and a storyteller known for his friendliness.  He was laid back and full of stories from his time as a teenager when he met his longtime friend, Robert, while they worked at the Windsor Cinerama Theater.  The tales he told of he and Robert over his single years were pretty funny and some just downright scary, but worth listening to!  He also loved to talk about his time in the US Navy and his epic road trips on his Harley Road Glide with his motorcycle-riding buddies.  About five and a half years ago, he decided it was time to put down his Harley and he purchased his second Corvette, a 1996 green Grand Sport convertible.  His first Corvette was purchased in the 1980’s.  In 2021, he purchased his third Corvette, a blue 2014 Stingray convertible, his pride and joy.

Harry was a member of the Houston Association of Realtors for 45 years, USS Hancock Association and NW Houston Vette & Rods.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Boone Bradley and Betty Robinson Bradley and his in-laws, Richard Wann and Erika Finkbeiner Wann.

Harry is survived by his wife, Judy, of 45 years; his daughter, Melissa, both from Cypress, Texas; a brother, Carl Bradley; cousin by marriage, Steve & Sharon Dinwiddie, Hot Springs, Arkansas; special family and friends including Robert Hickman and his children Caroline, Andrea, Wyatt and Garrett, Montgomery, Texas; special longtime friend, Robert Wier, Alva, Florida; friend and shipmate, Kevin Becker (Kevin San), Cornelius, Oregon; and his beloved dog, Toby.  Harry will be greatly missed by his wife and daughter and by the many lives he touched.

A special thanks to all his doctors and nurses for all their compassion while caring for Harry over the last several years.

Memorial contributions may be made in Harry’s name to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
