I meet Harry in 1974 when I was the manager of The Mutiny. Harry penned our Menus and was involved in other aspects of the Club, including The Scuttlebutt (our quarterly newsletter)His work was amazing! Harry was a great guy, and I know is sorely missed. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have known him. RIP Harry...

Being lucky enough to grow up in and around the Grove in the early 70's I got to meet so many characters but not many as colorful as one Harry Salvatore Bua. Sicilian first, everything else also. LOL
Harry took me to see my first spring training baseball game when I was a kid. Bet he forgot, I didn't.
Later, Harry became my first advertising mentor and taught me the craft of direct-response design and copy. You were one hell of an ad man, my friend - and that one of kind BUA signature left an indelible impression on my life and career forever.

Harry, although I never had the pleasure meeting you but your art will live on. My dear friend Marie Mallet has told me of all of your adventures together and I will be excited to hear more! You meant the world to Marie and we will continue to "live it up" in your honor! Rest in peace Bua and thank you for your life and love for those who surrounded you. You will be missed and I look forward to the stories to come from Marie and your closest friends. I hear that you were one of a kind who loved you family and friends with deep devotion.

This Bua portrait in oil of me hung proudly behind the bar at Gator Kicks for eight years back in the eighties. The eyes he painted are still alive in my logo today for Sun King.
Thanks Harry, you were the best.

What a precious man I had the privilege of knowing through my dear sister, Marie Mallet. You will be missed by many, Dear One. I hear the celebration at the pub tonight was spectacular. You must have been there. You have touched many lives. I'm so glad that mine was one of them.

Harry you are the reason that MONTY"S RAW BAR exists today. Thank you for your ability to create and make a dream come true. Our first plans where drawn on a napkin at the old Bay Shore restaurant before the raw bar existed.
Many of the festivals board members remember you fondly and use to marvel at your creative abilities.
Your friend,

I got to know Harry in the late '70s when I worked at the Hotel Mutiny in Coconut Grove. He and his partner did the artwork for the private restaurant and club. I always enjoyed talking to him at the hotel front desk. He was always kind to me and was a genuine, down-to-earth person. Rest in peace, Harry.
