Harry Downs

Mrs. Downs, I just learned of Harry's death. I am so sorry. I did some legal work for Harry in Arlington and had a number of wonderful conversations with him about his background.

I am sorry for your loss. Harry was a terrific person and wonderful to work with. He gave me my first job out of secretarial school and I worked with him in the Legal Dept. of Warren Brothers in Cambridge, Massachusetts until they moved to Atlanta. Unfortunately I was not able to move to Atlanta to continue working with him.

Besides being a great lawyer, Harry was amazing when it came to fitting the family's station wagon into a parking spot that was smaller than the car! A few of us got to experience this when going to a department luncheon in Harvard Square.

I want to let you know how sorry I am to hear this sad news. Although I first had the pleasure of knowing your husband as our "across the street neighbor", I really got to spend time with him at the Atlanta Lawyers Club meetings. He insisted I call him "Harry," which took some getting used to, and was always warm and gracious in every way. I know he enjoyed the Lawyers Club, and we will really miss him. He also introduced me to the best mechanic in Atlanta - David Dewrell! Best wishes,

Harry was a wonderful man and a great lawyer. I am proud to have known him.

Harry was an extraordinary man. He will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I wish I could be at the service today to pay my respects but Dave will be there.

Suzanne and Family - I am just heartbroken about our loss. I worked with Harry at Holland & Knight and Crowley & Clarida. He was such a delight to me. And since I am a twin, he shared pictures and stories with me of your precious angels. I live in Texas now or I would certainly be there for his services. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
