Kristine and Tucker, I was trying to look up Hap online, and sadly found out of his passing...I remember y'alls kindness during my own trying time in Salt Lake...I recall one day I was working with Hap, and he spotted an owl swooping down on a sparrow, as he was quite a bird watcher! I fondly remember driving the moving van with all your furniture to Smithfield in 1996. Staying for a few days, Hap and I visited his relatives gravesite across the river from Smithfield, It was surrounded by CSA graves, and he joked that it was so full they'd have to bury him standing up!... See you when I get there...Peace and Love, your friend, Sean McCall Brown.

Used to love spending time with him at the Grille and on occasion he would drop by the house to see Mike and I. He will be missed. Sue York

Hap was the first person I met moving from Germany at the beginning of my senior year to Woodbridge High School. I lived in Greenwich Hills two doors down. Right off the bat, Hap made me feel at home and introduced me to new faces at Woodbridge High School. After graduating from Woodbridge, we keep in contact from time to time. Finally, we connected in Florida, at Jamal Haddad's home and it was liked yesterday. Whether he liked it or not, he became our adopted "Radford Alumni."Hap was a great chef, he made sardines a delicatessen. Hap you will missed and I'm thankful to have had you in my life.

OK Harry, this is the 3rd time that I have written a memory of you and I do not think Legacy.com is responsible for them not appearing. Me and Harry: Ashby Hall, Geology Dept., Archeology Field School, many trips to Reddish Knob, Seneca Rocks, Dolly Sods, Hone Quarry, Shenandoah National Park, but, Negril Jamaica Spring Break 1979 with Eugene was the highlight. Bachelor Party on the Piankatank River, McLean wedding, trips to Ovoka Farm with your little yellow lab puppy, Bourbon Street Fest in Nawlins, Yellowstone, Capital Reefs, Canyonlands, and 3 memorable trips to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park NC doing geologic mapping in the wilderness, you as a Volunteer For Science. Thanks for the memories. We know that you are "High in Hog Heaven". RIP.

Hap was one of the first people I met when I moved to Woodbridge. We lived in the same neighborhood and played soccer for the Vikings. We went cow tipping together and were arrested by the lorton prison guards, we painted Garfield after we beat them 21-14 and were chased by the police that night( are you seeing a pattern here?). Hap was always a great friend and a very happy individual at all times. After graduation, we lost contact but rekindled our friendship a few years ago and have been very close especially since we root for the same team, LIVERPOOL.
I remember a couple of years ago his internet went down and Liverpool was playing a big game, he texted me and said he can´t watch, I picked up the phone, FaceTimed him and put the phone in front of the TV so he can watch with me. I think Kristine thought we were nuts.
Hap will definitely be missed and I know he is looking down and smiling now.
Rest in peace my brother, I always think about you when I´m in Florida at the beach.
Hap was an original Pigdog!

We are all missing a big part of our heart with the passing of our dear friend Hap. I'm lucky to say he was a life long friend...if I had a dollar for every time we laughed until our face hurt we would both be millionaires 10 times over... we shared many commom interests... we both loved the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, photography, geology, painting & drawing... and I am glad to say I have a few Hap originals I will always cherish. He painted me a picture of a deer standing in the Capon River as a wedding present that is one of my most prized possessions and it still hangs on our cabin wall in West Virginia to this day. He was a wealth of information. When we took float trips on the Capon River he would educate me between beers on the various rock formations and how old they were and how they were formed... always having conversations of substance rather than small talk. He had a flare for conversation and I never grew tired of his stories and our adventures together. We spent many nights in front of the fire place in West Virginia talking until the early morning hours... and he became an extended member of my family... It's hard to believe he is gone but I take comfort in the picture I have of him getting to heaven and being met by Johnny Lloyd and Sean Goss... If it's true as the Bible says that my father's house has many rooms...I pray my room is next to Haps... I love you Snapper and I miss you already... With fond memories and deep gratitude for your friendship... Jeff Lutman

Please accept our deepest sympathies. Although we only knew Hap for a couple of years, we really appreciated Haps great skills at cooking and putting together a wonderful Thanksgiving with Kristine and Liz. He definitely put us at ease when meeting the family and we will always remember his kind ways. With love, John and Theresa

I spent my birthday of 2019 with Hap at Penny Lane watching our favorite team Liverpool. I don´t remember the game at all but it was a memorable birthday thanks to him. He embodied the phrase You´ll Never Walk Alone. My love and deepest condolences to the Dashiell family and friends
