Harry James Henderson Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 24, 2011.

He was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on January 27, 1960, to the late Harry James Henderson Sr. and his surviving mother, Ethel Lee Henderson of Charlottesville, Virginia.

He was a coach for the Waynesboro High School Step Team for many years and volunteered his services at the Salvation Army and other community groups. He was an active member of the Democratic Party, hosting many important events.

In addition to his mother, he leaves to cherish his memory, his two daughters, Chiquay Burton and Sheanell Burton of Charlottesville, Virginia. Fond Memories of Harry and the Henderson Family came to mind at Lorraine Williams Funeral. Services were held at Jefferson School where Sam and I kept the "Johnson School Thing" going. Tributes to Lorraine and husband Eugene brought to mind Harrys work for the Charlottesville Community for many years until his death. May Harrys Memory bring comfort to the Family and inspiration to all. REST IN PEACE Joe Teague

To the Henderson/Burton family, this world has lost a treasure! I don't know anyone who gave as much of himself to others as Harry did. I pray you find comfort in the number of lives he touched in his time here, which in our eyes was all too short. But Jesus said, "Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy." John 16:22

Deepest Condolences to the Family, Mom, Daughters, Brothers, and Sister as well as to all who were blessed to be touched by such a strong presence of Harry Henderson. I know my life was forever changed by knowing and working with him at GE. I am so deeply sorry for your loss and will continue to lift the family up in prayer. We will never be the same because of the strong and compassionate example of "living life to its fullest" Harry displayed. Thank you for sharing him with all of us. His presence, his vibrancy, and his enthusiasm touched us deeply. Harry was a go-getter, never a quitter in everything he set his heart and mind to accomplish. I admire him for showing us how to be so consistent and determined in whatever the object or the goal, never look for the negative. never accept failure, and in doing so Harry accomplished so much. He was so proud of his musical aspirations, his services, and all the affiliations in which he partook. What a great example and such huge footsteps he leaves for us to follow in. God Bless You All.

I lost touch with him over the years but was blessed to reconnect with him on FaceBook in 2009. It was as if time stood still as we picked up where we left off. He was like my brother from another mother. I will miss all of the talks we had. To the family I say: Weeping my endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. Know that Harry is resting in the arms of God and will be with you in spirit daily. Keep the memories of him close in your heart and they will keep you.
