Harry J. Hill, 71, of Clearwater, FL, passed away on April 4, 2024. He was born on December 22, 1952, in Mineola, New York.

Harry served in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class, airplane mechanic, during the Vietnam Era.

During his civilian career, Harry dedicated over 30 years to public service with the State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

Harry was a member of Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, an active Emmaus Brother, and a Third Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Osmo J. and Nancy Hill, his sister Carol (Hill) Kamps, and her husband, Donald Kamps.

He is survived by his wife, Anna L. (Chancellor) Hill, children, Christie (O'Sullivan) Hill and Anna (Hancock) Hill, son-in-law, Evan O'Sullivan, grandchildren, Aidan, Ryan, Maddison, and Natalie, as well as brothers, Thomas and Richard Hill, and sister-in-law Linda.

Harry loved spending time with his wife of 50 years, his children, and grandchildren. He loved outdoor activities, biking, swimming with his grandchildren, and kayaking. He was an avid fisherman off the beautiful Clearwater coastline. He enjoyed do-it-yourself projects, helping others, and was known to drop whatever he was doing to help someone in their time of need. He was always up for a laugh, a natural leader, and instilled in all who knew him the power of compassion, empathy, kindness, and love.

Services will be held on April 26, 2024, starting with a 10:30 am service at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, Safety Harbor, FL, followed by a 2:00 pm burial at Bay Pines VA National Cemetery, Bay Pines, FL. A dinner will be hosted at Christie and Evan O'Sullivan's home after the burial service.

Harry will be laid to rest near plot 61 at Bay Pines VA National Cemetery, Bay Pines, FL.

Rest in peace, Harry J. Hill. Your legacy of kindness and love will be cherished and remembered by all who knew you. You will be forever missed.

I grew up with Harry and Tommy on Midland st. I was one of the few kids who could tell them apart. He sat behind me in 4th grade and was always a little funny.

I have add the pleasure of knowing Harry for over 32 years. My uncle through marriage. My friend, collegue, supervisor, and mentor through personal connections. His voice and laugh is engrained eternally in my head. Such a loving and giving soul. Peace Harry, 2 beers! You will be loved and missed. I know how proud you are of your family. Your dedication to Anna and your proudness in watching the girls develop into beautiful successfully strong career oriented women. Thank you for being Santa every Christmas when the kids were young. Psalm 91.. I will say to the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortess; my God; in Him will I trust. Not good bye, but until we meet again.
