Harry Lee Maul

Harry "Hap" Lee Maul, 87, of Carefree, AZ died on Saturday, March 16, 2024. After a courageous battle with progressive dementia over the past year, Hap passed away peacefully at Cactus Villa in Scottsdale, AZ. Hap was born to Harry and Alice Maul on December 22, 1936, in Salem, New Jersey. Hap graduated from Salem High School in 1954. Upon graduating from high school, Hap went on to pursue studies at the University of Vermont. After college, Hap worked in sales for Anchor Hocking Glass for a number of years, where his father worked as a mold maker. Hap left Salem after he married his former wife, Barbara Barracliff Bell, and moved to Anchor Hocking's corporate headquarters in Lancaster, Ohio where Hap's son, David Maul, was born. Upon retirement from Anchor Hocking Glass, Hap relocated to Carefree, Arizona. After meeting the founder of China Mist Tea, Hap worked as a sales representative for the company in the Phoenix metro area for several years. Hap remarried Carol Jean Maul and spent the remainder of his retirement in Carefree. In September, 2023, Hap lost his wife, Carol. Hap enjoyed spending time with friends and traveling all over the world with Carol. His nickname, Hap, reflected his always positive attitude and heart warming smile that brought joy and happiness to all of those blessed to have known him. Hap is survived by his former wife, Barbara Barracliff Bell of The Villages, FL ; son, David L. Maul, of Winter Park; FL and grandchildren, Wesley Maul of Gainesville, FL and Megan Maul of Houston, TX. A memorial mass for Hap will be held on Friday, April 12th - 10am at Our Lady of Joy Church in Carefree, AZ. Hap will be dearly missed.
