HARRY T. MEYER Jr.

I have known Harry for many years. I attended St Barbara church with him. He always reminded me of my father, they both looked a lot alike. I would always stop by and drop him off dinners or home made food items. I didn't realize that he passed until tonight. I stopped at his house a few weeks ago and he wasn't home. The last several weeks I haven't seen his car around. I had a strange feeling and when I found out tonight I was saddened. I still have a voice mail from him on my phone. I just loved him. He would come to our high school and teach the kids about farming. I am going to miss him. I am going to miss our talks, his stories and his laughs. I am so sorry Paul for your loss. Harry was a wonderful person and I will miss him greatly.

I only met Harry once, last fall when I interviewed him with some fellow students from Chartiers Valley High School. He was so welcoming and charming, such a likable person. I was fascinated with his knowledge of agriculture and he was so kind to me when talking after the interview. Harry has donated his farm for agricultural education, and I will be working on the land with 3 other students next year. We hope to continue Harry's legacy and fulfill his dream of using his farm for education. God bless him for his generosity! Rest in peace, Harry, and thank you.

Harry was a kind and generous man. He offered use of his land to my dad and some friends who flew radio-controlled airplanes. Together they became the Oak Ridge Flying Club. I'm glad I got a chance to know Harry a bit through that fraternity. Sympathies to you, Paul. Rest in Peace, Harry.

Harry was the sweetest guy! Loved visiting him at his house due to the fact I LOVE antiques...and he had a few!

Will miss him and his stories!

Harry was a faithful member of St Barbara Church and usher. Harry fostered many hours of model airplane radio control flying for at least a dozen youngsters who all became interested in flying. Every fall he had a corn roast and picnic for the model airplane club he fostered. Hope you are flying with the angels now Harry.

Terri and I were saddened to hear of Harry's passing. I remember going to the farm with my father when I was five years old and your Dad would take us around and show us all the things that were done on a dairy farm. I really got to know him in the last thirty years and I always enjoyed his company and his stories. He will truly be missed. Our prayers are with you. Terri and I have the flu and were not able to make the service at the church.

Sorry to be out of town for the funeral. Harry was a kind helpful gent with a strong conservation streak. At the age of 15, he taught me to drive a manual transmission through the apple orchard to facilitate the apple harvest. While picking apples was my first job, Harry also taught me how to tend to the nursery and care for nature. To this day I still manage my personal apple trees and wood lot. Thanks for taking the time to help me understand the nuances of nature. Rest in peace sir.

Harry use to sell Northern Spy apples to my mother Carmella DeVandry for her apple butter way back in the 60's. He was very proud of his apple orchard and would sometimes give me pointers in growing them. We have our garden and our house on property once owned by him. He will be missed. I first met Harry in 1982 when I became friends with his son Paul. I was then in the 3rd grade. It was a blessing to get to know you and your family. May your memory be eternal in heaven with the Lord.Tom

I first met Harry on October 30, 2003 at an Auction in North Lima, OH. Every antique I liked at the auction Harry liked. He outbid me on all but one. Harry approached me as I was leaving, introduced himself and a wonderful friendship blossomed from that moment. Over the years my respect and admiration for him kept increasing. He was kind, sincere, compassionate and easily made friends with everyone he met. He had a remarkable engaging personality, that made you feel like you knew him all your life 5 minutes after meeting him. It was quite obvious how much he loved his son Paul and his wife Mary, and talked often about them both. He was a wonderful and faithful husband, father and friend. I think every once in a while God creates a man that truly lives up to the virtuous life He wants them to live. Harry was one such man. I was lucky to have been among the legion of his friends.
