GD bless you Harry. I am a NYC tour guide and have frequently met with you over the years by Engine Ladder 10 and the Firemen's Memorial, small talking with you about the city and , of course, the tragic events of 9/11. I wish you Rest In Peace and one day meet again.

Condolences to the family of Harry Roland,
Life´s problems are not quite so heavy if we do not have to face them alone. Harry Roland helped us all not only to never forget but with some wit and kindness. A favorite proverb says "A friend is loving at all times, and becomes a brother in times of trouble." Thanks Harry!

My friend and I met this amazing guy, Harry, whilst visiting to pay respects to a school friend who was lost in 9/11 south tower. We were astonished by Harry and his knowledge and generally his warmth and passion for NYC. We are from England. I have some photos that I´m trying to find from our time with Harry as went a few times during our stay that was in April
2017.
In Dec 2023 I went back to NY and I headed over to the Fire St, and hoped he was still there. I often thought about him during lock down and wondered where he was. To my relief as I walked towards the station, I heard the words "Today is a mystery, yesterday is history,!"
To my astonishment he remembered me and asked about my friend"
He told me Covid was tough. But the guys at Station 10 had looked after him and made sure he was looked after. We stood and spoke for an hour. He even shared his phone number with me.
My friend is over in NY now and went looking for Wed & Thursday, and couldn´t find him. She has just sent me a photo of a poster she saw and recognised Harry!
We are both saddened by his passing and hope he had the send off he so well deserved.
I do hope he gets recognised and remembered by the City for his passion to educate young and old alike, and why history could not repeat WWTC. To all that knew and cared for Harry, your in our thoughts. Shirley & Allison County Durham , Thank you Harry, Rest in the peace you so greatly deserve

Harry and 9/11 were synonymous. I´m so grateful I got to see him on a recent visit to the Memorial. From the early days following the attacks Harry would always be talking about 9/11. He single-handedly made certain that the victims nor their families would ever be forgotten. His legacy is ours to carry forward in honoring and remembering his extraordinary service to the 9/11 community in welcoming people from around the world to WTC Ground Zero. Thank you Harry, rest my friend, you won´t be forgotten

You lived to tell all our stories and we´re always so kind in remembering my K9 partner Bear...........
Outtake from Animal Planet of a show they did about our K9 partner Bear and me at the World Trade Center. Bear Found FDNY Chief of Department Peter Ganci, FDNY First Fire Commissioner William Feehan (the two highest ranking people we lost that day) and many, many victims of the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks. There is a memorial to him at the FDNY/EMS Academy
