One of the real bright spots of my childhood when growing up on Wightman Street was having Harry Schwalb as a close neighbor. He always took the time to have a serious conversation with us kids and my interest in art began back then. In a few words he made the world a better place...and had great fun doing it. Our neighborhood was a blend of interesting personalities with his certainly shining through.

My mother spoke often and fondly of Harry. They worked together as artist on the Schenley H.S 1940 yearbook. She followed his art career with great interest and admired both his art and his goodness as a human being

Harry was a wonderful friend to my mother. They met at the JCC, and enjoyed each other's company immensely. I, too, had the pleasure of meeting him a few times, and he kindly gave me a piece of his art work in thanks for gift from Japan. His passing is a huge loss to all who knew him.

My deepest sympathy to the family I worked with Harry for many years. He was such a talented man with an absolutely awesome sense of humor. May he rest in peace.

Harry was a wonderful person and highly regarded by myself and my son, Matt. We met Harry at Hampton Hall. He was always enjoyable to talk with and his art collection was outstanding. He will truly be missed. Sandy DeNardo

So sorry for your loss. I love the idea of buying art from someone unknown or up and coming. Thank you for sharing magic with the world

Harry was a great artist and friend. His sense of humor was as sharp as his graphic line. A true Pittsburgh character who will be missed.
We loved you, Harry.
