Harry W. Sheaffer Jr.

Harry W. Sheaffer, Jr., 93, of Harrisburg, was called home to be with his Lord on April 7, 2020. Born February 8, 1927, he was the son of the late Harry W. Sheaffer, Sr. and Anna M. Anderson Sheaffer. Harry was a 1945 graduate of Swatara Township High School. He married Sara A. Rennard and together they raised three children. He was a retired supervisor of the rail mill of the Bethlehem Steel Corp., Steelton, PA. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Oberlin, a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest No. 43, a member of the Brownstone Lodge No. 666 F.&A.M., and a member of the Penn Harris Gun Club. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Sara "Sally". He is survived by his son, Harry Sheaffer (Genevieve) of Tabernacle, NJ; his daughter, Gail Rados (Tom) of Middletown, PA; and his daughter, Judy Nesbitt (Ted) of Canton, GA; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelly, Dena, Hollie, Samantha, Joseph and Mandee; and seven great grandchildren, Shannon, Addyson, Chase, Sarah, Harper, Emily and Harrison. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Harvey of Mechanicsburg, PA and his brother, Dale Sheaffer of Carlisle, PA. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Bailey. Harry was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved attending the athletic, school and church events of his grandchildren as they were growing up. Due to the Corona Virus pandemic, Private Graveside Services will be held at Churchville Cemetery in Oberlin. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Steelton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, 1152 Main St., Oberlin, PA 17113, in his memory.
