Harry Bruce Speck

Speck Speck, Harry Bruce, 76, of Vero Beach, formerly from Wilton Manors, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 after an extended illness. He was born November 7, 1926 in Pompano Beach, FL to Arthur and Clara (Kahllo) Speck. He lived in Wilton Manors most of his life, and following his retirement, resided in Vero Beach. He was Vice President of Facilities for SunTrust Bank from 1977 - 1990. Previously, he had his own electrical contractor business, Speck Electric. He attended Fort Lauderdale High School and Fern Hall High School, where he graduated early to enlist in the Navy during World War II. With his brothers and family, he built the adjacent houses where he and his brother Earl raised their families. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and visiting with friends and family. He was also active in the Wilton Manors community, having served in the volunteer fire department, the Jaycees, and on the Wilton Manors Board of Adjustment as its chair. He is survived by his wife Helen; and his children, Kathy (Gabor Kemeny), Madison, WI; Nancy, Coconut Creek; Glenn (Karen), Pompano Beach; Norman (Ana), Wilton Manors; and grandchildren Kara, Michael, Rachel and Danielle Speck. He was preceded in death by his brothers Arthur, Clifford and Earl, and sister Doris Holland. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2003 at Kalis Funeral Home, 2505 N. Dixie Hwy, Wilton Manors (954-566-7621). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
