Harry Spore

Harry Leo Spore, 87, passed away peacefully at home on September 21, 2025, in Winter Park, Florida.

Born on December 3, 1937, in Carrollton, Ohio, Harry was the son of Cornelius Edward Spore and Ila Marie Spore, younger brother to Glenn Edward Spore. He grew up with a strong work ethic that would define both his personal and professional life.

Harry proudly served his country in the United States Navy for three years aboard the USS Antietam. His time in the Navy instilled in him a lifelong commitment to service and discipline that he carried into every aspect of his life.

Following his military service, Harry embarked on a lifetime career in construction. He played an essential role in shaping some of the most iconic destinations in Central Florida as part of the original construction team for Walt Disney World Orlando and later Epcot Center. His work extended across various Disney Resorts throughout his career.

A masterful handyman with a particular talent for carpentry, Harry was known for his ability to fix or build just about anything. His skills were matched only by his generosity-he was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Whether it was helping a neighbor with repairs or volunteering at church, Harry gave freely of his time and talents.

On April 1, 1966, Harry married Bobbye Spore at Killarney Baptist Church, beginning nearly six decades of loving partnership. Together they raised their son Heath Spore (Alicia Spore). Harry took immense pride in being a devoted grandfather to Jonathon Spore and Jacob Spore. He cherished every moment spent with his family and especially loved sharing fun times and laughter with his grandsons.

Since 1977, Harry had been a faithful member and volunteer at First Baptist Church Orlando. His dedication to his faith community was unwavering, and he found great joy in serving others through the church's ministries.

He is also remembered fondly by his brother-in-law James Deal Jr., niece Shannon Burrow, and nephew James Deal III.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.

In addition to his many accomplishments, Harry will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, great sense of humor, and love for water sports during his younger years. His presence brought warmth to every room he entered and comfort to all of his friends and neighbors.
