Professor Bunke was a legend and a force in the graduate school of business! I was fortunate to have him for 2 classes and learned more than just the book knowledge in each. He approached me one day in the fall of my second year and told me that he'd signed me up to interview with IBM since he thought it would be a good fit!! I ended up working for them for 33 years so I guess he was right. Rest in Peace, Professor. Those who were fortunate to know you and learn from you are eternally grateful.

I met Harvey when I taught at the IU Grad Business School in Summer 1991. He was really kind to me and we had very interesting conversations, especially about his 1980 article "Liberals, Conservatives, and the Election." I am very sorry to hear about his passing but will always remember his intelligence, wit,and kindness. Reggie Shareef (Roanoke, VA)

What a fun and genuine person. I loved talking to Harve at the business school. He had a wicked sense of humor!

I worked for Harv for seven years while he was editor of Business Horizons and Director of the Graduate School of Savings and Loan program. Through his writings for various business journals, I learned to write creatively. I will never forget his noticeable laugh, sparkling blue eyes, and a wonderful sense of humor. You will be missed.

Harv was the first person I met from Indiana University and was instrumental in getting me to come and stay at IU. I was in graduate school in Baltimore and Harvey was in DC and invited me to join him for breakfast at 7:00 am. About 40 years later, I remember Harv asking me how was the traffic, and I, not a morning person then, answered "Fine, at the crack of dawn." Harvey thought that was one of the funniest things he had ever heard for some reason, and gave out his trade-mark laugh,
As a fellow economist, Harv was a mentor to me, with great insights into the profession, IU systems, and effective leadership.
He'll be missed but long remembered.

Professor Bunke made a tremendously profound and positive impression on 12 IU students (myself included) who went with him and Peg to Singapore in 1988 to study at NUS for a semester abroad. What amazing experience we all shared! "Love or glory?", he used to ask us. We know he chose love, but he was certainly not without his (well-deserved) share of glory. Prof Bunke will be sorely missed.

Quite a Curriculum Vitae, I'd say. I just knew Harv as a Mudshark, and have fond memories of some great parties in B-Town. Rest well, Harv, and remember you've left quite a legacy and your lineage shows your style, grace and courage.

We have fond memories of Credit Union Board trips when Harv was president of the Board. He knew how to throw a party! He made many contributions to IU and the Bloomington community and helped shape what they are today? He will be missed. We extend our sympathy to the family.
