Mr. Hall made a huge impact on Kern County. As a first year teacher, 14 years ago, my class wrote him a letter, and he came and read a story to them. He made everyone feel important.

It was an honor to know Harvey Hall. Over the years we had the opportunity to visit about business, family and friends. I always respected his business mind and stood in awe of his abilities. I met Harvey in 1970-1 after moving to Bakersfield in November of 70 to become the assistant manager of the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce. I remember Harvey in the office of then chamber manage, George Barton, asking for the chambers help in starting his ambulance company. I had the chance to relate that story to him in person a couple of years ago which he enjoyed the walk down memory lane. I supported him as Bakersfield Mayor and when I retired as Executive Director of the Kern County Farm Bureau I was honored by Harvey to proclaim that day in October of 2004 as Loron Hodge Day. I will miss him but never forget him. Rest in Peace my friend.

As a friend, admirer and employee of Mr. Hall, I was deeply saddened by his passing. But I am lifted by his memory and the memories of his excellence, discipline and compassion. I spent near 15 years as a paramedic in Kern county working for Mr. Hall. All know of his business and political sense and success, and I would also like to believe they all knew as much about the human side, the kind side of the man. You will be missed sir.

It's with a heavy hart we say goodbye to such a great man. I have not met anyone in this field more dedicated. Not only to all those under him, but also to his community. There's not enough room to share our experiences, moments and achievements. Harvey was a pioneer, a visionary and most of all someone I could call my friend. You will be missed. RIP...

My thoughts and prayers are with the Hall family in this most difficult time. Harvey Hall was one of the most generous and supportive persons I have ever met in my life and he will be greatly missed and his impact on people and our community will not soon be forgotten.

I first met the Mayor years ago while assisting a friend in securing financial backing for his race car he was building to race at Bakersfield Speedway and later at Mesa Marin. Because of his love for sports in general and an eye for talent the Mayor became not just a sponsor but the major contributor for my friends car for many years.

Through our many conversations over the years I came to learn of Harveys great love for minor league baseball as I had a nephew playing MLB at the time. Any time I would see the mayor in public he would always take the time to catch up and see how my family and I were doing which always impressed me because I knew how busy he was with so many more important things that demanded his time.

My most fond memory was being able to meet with and pray for our Mayor at his office as we discussed the needs of our community and his heart to see homelessness eradicated in our city. Harvey Hall is a true American hero. He loved our city and its people and sought each day to unite every person he met to a cause greater than their own, the well being of all our citizens.

I will miss my friend Harvey Hall and I thank God for his life and the impact he made not just on our city but on my life as well. May the Hall family be comforted knowing the countess lives who have been touched, changed and saved because of Harvey's love of and vision for people.

Grace and peace,

It is with a heavy, heavy heart that we say goodbye to one of the finest human beings that ever lived! My family has known Harvey Hall since he first started working in the ambulance business. He was always there for anyone who needed help and expected nothing in return. Don (and me, too) was so very proud of you!
Rest in peace, my friend. We will always remember you with love.

How difficult it is to lose someone who is so dearly loved and needed. He dedicated himself to family, and so many others. May you draw comfort and strength each day through prayer and God's promises. (Jeremiah 29 : 11-13).

Harvey, in my opinion, was Mr. Bakersfield. He loved this town and would do whatever he could to improve life here. There is a void now that will be very difficult to fill. Such a kind and humble person.
