Harvey John Larson

July 22, 1962 - December 24, 2024

Harvey John Larson, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 62 on December 24th in Braintree, Massachusetts. He is survived by his loving children: Hilery Jane Larson, Emily Mae Larson, and Rosemary Taylor Larson. He was also the dearly beloved grandfather of Joey Breshnahan and Sadie Ann Ceurvels. Harvey was predeceased by his parents, Richard T. Larson and Renee LaPrade Larson. He is further survived by his siblings: Heidi Larson Hurley and her husband, Joseph P. Hurley III; Karen Renee Sennott; Hilding Alfred Larson and his wife, Debra; and Eric Richard Larson and his wife, Linda, along with many nieces and nephews whom he adored.

Growing up Harvey roamed the neighborhood with the Harrison Ave gang on his stingray bike, played baseball, lit off "caps" and enjoyed anything with sugar. "Candy!" Harvey graduated from Braintree High School in 1981 and attended Caddy Camp at Sankaty Head Golf Course where his love and passion for golf and Nantucket began. Harvey worked on Nantucket for a few years as a painter and craftsman. On Nantucket is where he met his former wife Nancy with whom he had 3 adorable little girls. Harvey returned to Braintree and created his own business, "HJL Painting and Wallpaper". He was an accomplished and skilled painter, many homes and businesses were painted by him. Harvey continued to paint up to his final days on Earth, finding purpose in his work.

Known for his easy going nature, charm, and wisecracking humor, Harvey had a remarkable ability to turn strangers into friends. Whether sharing a laugh or offering advice, he always made others feel special. Harvey lived for his family and friends and was the eternal jokester. Harvey always had a harmonica in his back pocket and his love of dogs, fireworks, and campfires will be with us always as a special memory. Despite being diagnosed with congestive heart failure, he never gave up on life. The family is forever grateful for the support of friends and the community at Logan Park in Braintree. Harvey found companionship and joy in sharing laughs, playing pool, and cards, and enjoying each other's company. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched with his kindness and adventurous spirit. His zest for life will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Harvey's spirit and life will be celebrated on January 11, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the Sons of Italy Hall, King Hill Road Braintree, MA. Burial will be private.

Growing up in Braintree it was hard not to know the Larson brothers. While I went to school with Eric, Harvey was always nearby with a joke or a smoke. He made life as a kid in the 80´s fun and full of fond memories. The trouble we used to get in to. My deepest sympathies. God rest your soul Harvey Larson.
