To Val and family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing. What a fine man he was and loved by so many. And he helped so many people learn to play and repair autoharps. I will always remember the good jam sessions we had together at the Folk Center in Mt. View and the Lodge at Mena. Jim was loved by so many people and he will always be remembered. Val, you too are loved by so many for your beautiful voice and your autoharp playing. You are a very special lady and I am so glad I got to know you and Jim and I will cherish all the good times we had together. Please take good care of yourself and keep in touch. With much sadness in my heart,
Glenn Flesher

Dear Valta, I am heart broken to hear of Jims passing. What a fine man he was and he was loved by so many.He must have helped hundreds of folks learn to play the autoharp and think of all the harps he repaired over the years. He was a good man and a master player, teacher and was always ready to help folks learn. And he was so lucky to have you by his side all those years. So rest in peace my friend and some day we will meet again and play some more sweet music. And Val, just remember that you are loved too and we all share our memories and condolences with you and all the family.

hi, valta --

sheryl called me shortly after you talked with her about jim's death. i am so, so sorry. he was a good and decent man, and he loved you so much. it was an inspiration to many of us to see two people who loved each other as much as the two of you did.

i truly regret that we have been so out of touch with each other these past several years. will you please call sheryl or me (615/591-1212) and let us know how to reach you (phone or address)?

-- much love -- susie

Dear Val,
I know where you are today I am so sorry to hear of Jim's death. I will always remember the lessons I and John learned about the autoharp with Jim. He was always so generous in sharing. He always had a positive attitude. Just know I am thinking of you. God bless you and your family.
