I had a lot of respect for Haskell while working together at the Corps of Engineers in Jacksonville, FL. He was an expert who always took the time to assist other in the discharge of our duties. My most sincere condolences to his family.

I first met my life long friend Haskell Wright after I entered the seventh grade at Westlawn Jr. High school, Texarkana, Texas. He was the quarterback on our football team, and what an exceptional athlete he was. He was gifted, very intelligent, and a genuine guy. We shared many happy and memorable times together in the next few years. He was a true friend. Fifty years after high school we reunited at my home in Longview, Texas. It was so good to see him, meet his wife and learn of his family. His life experiences had not changed him. He was the same friend I had known fifty years before. We will all miss him.
