Hasker James "Jim" Thomas

Hasker Thomas FLORENCE - Funeral service for Mr. Hasker James "Jim" Thomas will be 12 noon Saturday in the Savannah Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens directed by Peoples Funeral Service of Florence. He died Tuesday October 26, 2010. He was born in Florence County a son of the late Hasker J. and Alice Johnson Thomas. He attended the public schools of Florence County. He was the owner of Thomas Masonry and his works both commercial and residential are exhibited in several locations. He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader, Little League Baseball Coach, operator of the neighborhood park and an usher of the church. Survivors include: his wife, Rosa Lee Brown Thomas; five children, Gwendolyn T. (Willie) Williams, Michael J. (Pearline) Thomas and Allyson G. Cooper all of Florence, Hasker Thomas, Jr. of Sumter and Brenda L. Thomas of Columbia; his brothers and sisters, Daisy Crawford of Florence, Solomon Thomas of New York, Hester (Robert) Watson of Virginia Beach, VA and Gloria Rogers of New York; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. The family is receiving friends at 2242 Hasker Lane, Effingham.
