Hattie was my roommate at P.V my junior year. Her and Delores Allen Robinson were very serious students and their study habits rubbed off on me. I was please that Hattie did come to Chicago for a visit and we were able to see each other. RIP Hattie you are in God's arms.

Hattie Marshall was an inspiration to me when I first started working at Burris Elementary. A kind and loving person with very strong character. Her rapport with the children was wonderful and supportive. Keeping family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.

Ms. Marshall I remember you from Burrus Elementary School. I worked as a teacher's aide in the 1970's. I always admired you as a person, as well as an educator. May you rest in peace.

Hattie Marshall was a jewel at Burrus Elementary. She was a counselor, teacher and a testing coordinator. It was truly a blessing to work with a God fearing lady who cared herself like a politician. She listen to what the children gad to say. I admired her. She dressed professional as an educator. I know her family will miss her words of wisdom and humor.

To a lady who feared God and held her head up with dignity. I remember when she went to Obama's 1st inauguration address. She brought me back a silvernear. What a dreesser she was, being a single career woman. She was my example. I worked with her at Burrus Elementary. She was a counselor who took out time to listen to the students. I know, the family know she brought joy in the mist of them because she did it at Burrus Elementary. She could speak like someone trying to be elected for a office in the White House. I think I lite 2 candles for a person who was a friend in deed and LOVE.

Soror Hattie may you Rest In Peace. I will never forget your commanding voice. You spoke with such authority and purpose. Magnificent. I thank God that I had the opportunity to meet you in this life. Until our paths cross again.

It seems impossible to speak of any consolation in the face of such loss, but we hope the family can find some comfort in your many special memories and in the thought of the happy times you shared together. You have all our love, sympathy and warmest thoughts.

Let all who knew Hattie Marshall give praise and thanksgiving to God for her life, labors, loves, and longevity.

A wonderful woman of faith, an educator,
with a heart for youth and the community,
she made an impression on everyone who met her. She let her light shine in numerous ways. And I shall best remember her for her eloquent speech... AND.... the famous
"KNOWLEDGE BOWL" , an exciting black history knowledge competition she organized annually for school youth while we worked together. It was rival in content and excitement to the famous TV show Jeopardy.

I'll never forget her telling me she "loved to shop", as was evident in her attire every time you saw her.

Always positive and upbeat, she was a joy to be around. Always a smiling face,a kind word, and friendly conversation. We shared a "special joke" about attending a Sunday service at Bedside Baptist Church , Rev. M.Y. Pillow, pastor.

All is well. Sweet rest is her deserved reward. Let all who are believers be assured of a sweet, heavenly reunion someday. John 3:16

Sincerely,

I met Sis. Hattie Marshall and her entire family in 1988 when my husband, Rev. Spurlock, became their Pastor at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church. We remained close friends although miles separated us as we moved to Dallas. Hattie, Sylvia, Jeff, Sis. Rolena Marshall, and my dear "Aunt Val" are people I will never forget because of their love and kindness shown and given to me and my family. Love and Respect to the Marshall Family

Sis Hattie Marshall has played a very significant role in my spiritual development. She didn't preach to me or anything like that, but she treated me as ALL Christians should treat each other! No matter what she made me feel accepted and no matter how I was dressed she made me feel as if I was welcomed in the Lords house! For this I will love and appreciate her forever! I hope to be more like Christ ANDVher in the rest of the days the Lord allows me to walk this earth...she was the true definition of a Women in and of Christ! My Prayers go out to the Marshall/Fitch family!
