Hazel J. (Rieger) Giera

Hazel J. (Rieger) Giera, 89, wife of the late Stanley J. Giera, died Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Frederick Living, Upper Frederick Twp., Montgomery Co., PA.

Hazel was born on November 7, 1935, in Upper Providence Twp., Montgomery Co., PA, to the late Carl F. and Ethel M. (Pringle) Rieger. She lived all of her life in Upper Providence until moving to Frederick Living in 2016.

Before retiring, Hazel was a secretary for several companies and organizations including Handy & Harmon Tube Co., E. Norriton Twp., Montgomery Co. and the Montgomery Co. Court House, Norristown.

Hazel was a lifelong member of Augustus Lutheran Church.

Hazel is survived by her sister, Dorothy M., wife of the late John A. Moorehead, Jr., Upper Providence Twp.; her nieces and nephews, Sharon (Rieger), wife of Scott Winterton, Deborah (Moorehead), wife of the late Gerald Harley, and Ronald, husband of Linda (Weaver) Moorehead; her great-nieces and nephews, Stephen Winterton, Sarah Winterton, Alicia (Moorehead), wife of Christopher Kammerer, and Kevin, husband of Megan (Harner) Moorehead; her great-great-nieces, Avery and Ryann Kammerer; and her step-children, Theresa, wife of Jimmy Keim, Christine, wife of the late Robert Morris, Kathleen Beutler, and Stanley Giera. She was preceded in death by her brother, William. F., husband of Dorothy (Hutton), Rieger, Palm Harbor, FL.

Hazel's funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 15th, at Augustus Lutheran Church, 717 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426, with the Rev. G. Warren Weleck, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, Wednesday, at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Augustus Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe.
