Hazel Dixon Keasler, 88, of Athens died Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at Starr Regional Medical Center of Etowah. She was a native of Etowah and a longtime resident of Montclair, Calif., before moving back to McMinn County in 1994. She was a daughter of the late Creed and Luria Williams Dixon and was preceded in death by her first husband of 41 years, Billy Joe Keasler; her second husband of over 20 years, Carl D. McCaslin; and a daughter, Cynthia Ann Gray. Hazel was retired from Simpson Paper Company in Pomona, Calif., after 32 years of service. She is survived by daughters, Cathy Keasler Shriver-Goff of Athens, and Carol Mimbs and husband, Marty, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; son, Gary Keasler and wife, Debbie, of Alta Loma, Calif.; grandsons, Wesley Shriver, Chris Shriver, Matthew Keasler and wife, Karmen, Blaine Keasler and wife, Trisha, and Garrett Mimbs; great-grandchildren, Talon and Landon Shriver, Maliyah and Gianna Shriver, and Lukas and Luna Keasler; aunt, Jessie Mae Gunter of Athens; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Ziegler Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Clark officiating. Interment will follow in New Zion Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Shriver, Chris Shriver, Matthew Keasler, Blaine Keasler and Garrett Mimbs. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to AMVETS Post 100, 205 County Road 813, Etowah, TN 37331.
