Hazel Dyal Thomas

THOMAS, Hazel Dyal, 84, of Tampa, returned to the arms of her heavenly father on January 28, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Dover, Fla., she was a member of Lake Magdalene Methodist Church. For the past 20 years she had resided at University Village and the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. She spent her life serving others and her family. Her love of travel included many trips in her motor home with her family and friends throughout North America. She traveled abroad to places such as South Africa, Switzerland and Ireland. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter and brother. She is survived by her son, James (Diane) Dyal; daughter, Barbara (Neil) Moats; brothers, Rhett (JoAnn) Tillis, James (Faye) Gillette, Truman Gillette, the Wayne Thomas family; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Ave. Tampa.
