The Honorable HAZLE REID CRAWFORD "H.R."
Former Ward 7 District of Columbia City Council Member On Friday, February 10, 2017. Beloved husband of Eleanora Braxton Crawford; devoted father of Leslie (Preston) Taylor, Hazle "Guy", George (Bari), Gregory (Curtistene) and Lynn Crawford. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. The Honorable Mr. Crawford will lie in state at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2800 Pennsylvania Ave., S.E. on Saturday, February 18 from 9:15 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to assist homeless veterans with Access Housing DC, Inc., 820 Chesapeake St., SE, Washington, DC 20032. What a great Man, well educated, business savvy,A loving Husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. To me your a humanitarian.The day I met you I was In need of something, I was looking for myself, I needed a home. I walked in your office pregnant and holding the hand of my three year old son. I was going through it. I wanted someone to hear me and I was not going to take no for an answer, you were not going to give me a yes so easy either.And there you sat, I stood and talked, you listened and probed, it was not easy. You were intimidating,very powerful I thought you could move mountains. You could and would if needed be. And I am so grateful to you for believing in me. R.I.P thank you for all you have done.
