I never got the chance to thank you for being such a good friend; I'm sorry that I have to do it like this. You will always be one of the most genuine people I have ever met. You were there for me during the hardest period of my life; and I thank you for that. Remember how we used to stay up all night and just laugh at everything? God, I can still hear you laughing. And what about all the nights we would just drive and drive and drive until we had just enough gas to get us home; remember the songs we used to play while cruising from here to there? I spent a whole day this week playing them in your honor; I remember every one of them. You're the kind of person that could light up a room, do you know that? You're smile alone would just make everyone around you smile. You're one of the most loved people I've ever met; do you realize that I never ever heard anyone say anything negative about you? I never met one person that didn't like you, ever. You have taught me so much about myself, someday when we meet again….and I know that we will my friend…I will tell you to your face. I truly, truly love you, I always have and I always will.

Funny, you both left us around the same time and I see that she is with you in the first photo of this site. Your red Geranium is doing well; I miss you calling me Auntie Debbie and sending your love notes and phone calls...but your mom is taking up the slack! Darling Heather, Buzzy and Justin came up, we all piled into April jeep with the dogs and went to Watertown.Your brother and April are so good to me. It was a huge love fest at Kathy and Fred's. Just what I needed, Ethen spoke of you, he misses you and wishes he had more time with you. He has a sweet and gentle soul. As you well know. David and April were stuck like magnets. She was smilling, I think she had a good time but wanted you there with her. In your honor Fred made a amazing dinner, fish tacos, pecate, corn soup and guacamuoly. So very good, we laughed and cried wish you were there. Justin and Buzz and Josh were busy bonding. April has been draged into the fold she did really well. Lots of tears and love we all miss you so. I know you have so many things to see and do.I mustn't tie yourself to me with tears, be happy that we had so many beautiful years I gave to you my love. You can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you have each shown. But now it's time you traveled on alone.So we will grieve awhile for you, i grieve we must. Then our grief will be comforted by trust. It's only for awhile that we must part. so bless the memories within you heart. I won't be far away, for for life goes on. My dear niece Heather. I came into your life so very late. And even though we did not meet in the flesh, we talked on facebook and you touched my heart. To talk to you was to talk to a friend and blood kin, without a doubt. You accepted me as your "Auntie Kalisto" with no hesitation. One day we will meet across time, my love. I will clean up the sailboat and do a campout on it like we were going to do a few days after you passed, i will have "boat drinks" with you! Marissa and I planted sunflowers in your memory and they have already sprouted. I know you are shinning down on all who loved you, i'm missing you so much! A tear, then a smile, a tear then another smile! I love and forever miss you! One day we will have more misadventures of Miss Polly and Miss Prissy! Til then i will keep feeding these damn chipmunks for you!

Heather has definitely touched many lives with her infectious personality and charm. I remember hearing her name mentioned a lot (all the wonderful things she had done) when I started working at Reliance House. When I finally had the pleasure of working directly with her, she certainly lived up to all the hype... and quickly became one of my strongest advocates, cheerleader, and friend. She believed in me and always encouraged me throughout my endeavors. We didn't have a lot of time together outside of work the last few years, but I know she never left my side in heart and mind. "About 20+ years ago, I made a quilt for my mom. A year ago she gave it back and said she doesn't need it anymore. I brought it into Reliance House where Heather and I worked. Heather happened to be in the lobby and heard my story and she immediately said she would love to have my quilt. She hugged it and said it reminded her of when her mom was able to sew for her. I was so glad that she wanted that quilt and that it would bring her such warm memories. My heart is saddened to hear that Heather is no longer with us here in this life. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family."
