Heather T. Hotaling

Heather T. Hotaling, 53, of Oneonta, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.

She was born on June 10, 1964 in Ridgewood, New Jersey, the daughter of John O. and Nancy E. (Scarr) Thompson. She married Glenn R. Hotaling on July 27, 1985 at the First Presbyterian Church in Oneonta.

A graduate of Oneonta High School, Heather went on to attend SUNY Oneonta and received her Bachelors. She was currently employed for almost 30 years as a billing and collections manager in the student accounts office at SUNY Oneonta.

Generous and loving at heart, Heather was always putting others before herself. She enjoyed camping, spending time with her horses and pets, experimenting with new recipes, crafts, games and puzzles, and above all else, spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn R. Hotaling of Oneonta; 2 daughters, Kelly L. (Hotaling) and Matthew Coolbaugh of Troy, PA, and Megan E. Hotaling of Oneonta; her father, John O. Thompson of Franklin; siblings, Glenn S. and Jane Thompson of Sloatsburg, Janet (Thompson) and Francis "Chip" Thomas of Sunderland, Mass, and Jean (Thompson) and Dale Ray Downin of Franklin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth R. Thompson; and her mother, Nancy S. Thompson.

Friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 5-7 pm at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 296 Main Street, Oneonta, with Rev. Mark E. Montfort officiating.

Burial will follow in Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin.
