Heather Colleen McGregor

Heather Colleen McGregor, age 50, passed away on May 27, 2025, in St. Petersburg, FL. Born on July 8, 1974, Heather dedicated nearly two decades of her life to nurturing young minds at Rosie's Playschool, where she rose to the positions of Assistant Director and Curriculum Specialist. Her commitment deeply impacted both the children and their families, highlighting her significant role in her community.

Heather was known for her cartoon voice, sense of humor, kindness, and her always helpful nature, making her a cherished friend and colleague. She graduated from St. Petersburg High School and furthered her education at SPC, earning credentials in Early Childhood Education.

Outside of her professional life, Heather had a passion for gardening, from which she crafted her own rubs and hot sauces. She was also an avid cook, known especially for her BBQ chicken wings and jalapeno poppers. Heather loved entertaining friends and family, was skilled in party planning, and ran a crafting side business, Heather's Hangers, showcasing her creative spirit. Heather enjoyed flamingo's, gnomes and Tinker Belle which supported her playful personality.

She is survived by her son, Bryan McGregor; partner, Adam Hayes; brother, Douglas McGregor (Jodi); nieces Anna, Kate, Rachel, and Elizabeth McGregor; nephew, Douglas McGregor Jr.; and stepmother, Cindy McGregor. Heather was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Wasel, and father, Jim McGregor.

A gathering to celebrate Heather's life will be held on Saturday June 28th, at the Shore Acres Recreation Center, Multipurpose room #1, located at 4230 Shore Acres Blvd NE, St Petersburg, FL 33703. The service will start promptly at 11 am. Heather's life was a testament to her love for others, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
