Dr. Hector Almaria Marino, 71, passed away suddenly on May 6, 2019. Devoted husband to Salvy nee Madrid; loving father to Kristine (Vic) Doydora, Karl (Amy) Marino, Kurt (Jen) Marino, Chris (Maria) Pendon and Jamie (James) Han; and adored grandfather by Christian, Carter, Connor, Alyssa, Zac, Cole and Theo. Hector is also survived by his two sisters Vilma and Rosemarie, brother Pete, and many loving extended family and friends.

Hector was born in Taal, Batangas, Philippines on November 15, 1947. He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, Medical School. Hector relocated to Chicago in 1974 and spent 40 years practicing Family Medicine.

A dedicated and compassionate physician, Hector completed several medical missions in various Philippine provinces. He also served as the President of the Philippine Medical Association and President of the University of Santo Tomas Alumni Medical Association.

Hector took great pleasure in traveling the world, fishing, ballroom dancing and spending time with his family.

A special thanks to Dr. Donald Morales and the dedicated medical team at North Shore University Evanston Hospital, Intensive Care Unit.

Arrangements entrusted to Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home (17w201 Roosevelt Rd., Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois). Memorial Visitation on Thursday, May 9th and Friday, May 10th from 2 P.M. to 9 P.M. A prayer service will be held on Friday, May 10th, at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Visitation on Saturday, May 11th at 8:30 A.M. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church at 10 A.M. (1S314 Summit Ave., Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois).
