In Loving Memory of Heidi Ainslie

November 17, 1943 - May 17, 2025 Wiesbaden, Germany - San Antonio, Texas

Heidi Ainslie, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 17, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. Born in Wiesbaden, Germany, Heidi lived a life marked by devotion, resilience, and deep love for her family and friends.

Heidi was the cherished wife of the late Ret. Colonel Robert Stephen Ainslie, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage built on love, laughter, and partnership. As a proud military wife, she dedicated her life to raising their three children-Bob, Gary, and Sandy-with strength, compassion, and unwavering loyalty and support.

She is survived by her children: Bob (Dawn) Ainslie, Gary (Bibiana) Ainslie, and Sandy (Rick) White. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren: Micheyl (Rick) Bright, Sean Sutton, Bobby (Mallory) Ainslie, Joshua Ainslie, Justin Ainslie, Jared (Lillian) Ainslie, Megan Ainslie, Emma White, Noah White, Daniel (Kylie) White, and Michael White, as well as twelve great-grandchildren: Riley, Gage, and Mabry Bright, Raelyn and Hudson Ainslie, Jackson Ainslie, RJ and Barrett Ainslie, Brooklynn, Eva, Winnie, and Noel White who brought immense joy to her later years.

Heidi was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents Georg and Anna Haupt, and her siblings: Gunther Haupt, Hannelore Vobel, Erich Haupt, and Irmgard Humberstone. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Helga Schleimer (of Germany), brother-in-law, Larry and his wife Debbie Lhotta (of Colorado Springs), many other relatives, and by countless friends who became family through the years.

Heidi lived with a fierce honesty, quick wit, and joyful heart. She was opinionated and stubborn in the best ways-always standing up for what she believed in, and doing so with humor and love. She had a gift for making those around her feel seen, heard, and cared for. Whether she was playing cards, dancing, sipping wine with her closest friends, or enjoying a day at the lake, Heidi brought warmth and laughter to every gathering.

She treasured life's simple pleasures and, above all, the company of her loved ones. Her home was always open, her heart even more so. Heidi's friendships were lifelong, and her presence made every happy hour a little happier.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 9th at 10:15am, at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery, Shelter 2, in San Antonio. A Celebration of Life will follow immediately at the home of Bob and Dawn Ainslie.

Heidi's family welcomes all who knew and loved her to join in honoring her remarkable life.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Wreaths Across America, an organization near and dear to Heidi's heart. Supporting those who have served was a cause she held close, and your contributions in her memory would mean the world.
