Heidi Collins Obituary
Heidi's fondest years were spent in Kenilworth, IL. Growing up on Warwick Road, she was the oldest of five and attended Joseph Sears School, New Trier East, and Briarcliff College. She and David moved to 707 Brier Street in 1987, where they built tight-knit friendships with neighbors and raised their two children, Courtney and Christopher. Her children were her pride and joy - her everything and she was the same to them. Heidi enjoyed doting on the kids more than anything else. She was a devoted and loving mother, never missing the kids' activities and sports. In 1989, the family fell in love with Siesta Key, FL and vacationed there every year. Heidi's dream was to call this magical beach town home. In January 2024, she left her beloved Kenilworth for her 'Happy Place' and life at the beach. She treasured her memories and friendships from Kenilworth to Indian Hill Club to Siesta Key and beyond. Heidi is remembered as a wonderful mother, loving sister, and witty and loyal friend.
Heidi is survived by her adoring children, Courtney (Bret) Lageson and Christopher D. Collins. She will always be the beloved sister of Holly S. Cohrs, Hilary (Tom) Randstrom, James (Sandy) Cohrs, Jr., Charles M. Cohrs and sister-in-law of Marina (Trey) Reik, wife of David B. Collins, and dearest niece of Nancy I. Cohrs. She was also an aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend to many. Preceded in death by her parents, Muriel M. Cohrs and James C. Cohrs, uncles Walter L. Cohrs and John S. Cohrs and her mother-in-law, Catherine B. Collins.
A celebration of life will take place at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Kenilworth, IL on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Heidi's memory can be made to Senior Friendship Centers, 1888 Brother Geenen Way, Sarasota, FL 34236 or https://friendshipcenters.org/donate-today/.

Heidi was a great friend. She was kind, thoughtful, and fun to be around. Living across the street from her in Kenilworth is where we became close friends. We walked together every morning around Indian Hill Golf course and through Kenilworth. We laughed a lot and shared our life stories.
Our deepest condolences go to Chris and Courtney - Heidi was a wonderful mother and she loved them dearly. She will be missed by so many family members and friends. Rest in peace, Heidi, you are forever loved.

My deepest condolences for Chris and Courtney and all family for there loss,my dearest Hidie whom I have had the pleasure of cleaning and caring for all these years. This last year especially i will miss seeing your face and hearing your stories. We shared everything,every week and I cherished that the most. Words can't describe these past months,only prayers.. I attended Joseph Sears with Heidi and then years later we raised our children in Kenilworth. A Sears tradition during the 8th grade graduation is to ask any graduates in the audience to stand. I remember giving a Heidi a wave while our boys stood on the stage.
I'm sending lots of love to Courtney and Christopher. You two were her pride and joy. I hope the days ahead will be filled with only happy memories.
