HEIDI LEAVOY Obituary
(nee Mallaby) 55 years, suddenly passed away on March 16, 2013. Loving mother of Rachel Sablone and husband Claudio, Jamison and Jennifer Leavoy. Adored Nana to Dominic and Adriana Sablone and Holdyn Leavoy. Cherished daughter of Morag Mallaby. Dear sister to Chris Mallaby and wife Robin, Heather Mallaby and the late Marilyn Luxton (2006). Heidi will be missed by many family members, friends and co-workers. Heidi achieved her dream of becoming a registered nurse having worked at WRH-Met Campus for many years and who was a mentor to many students and touched many lives. Visiting will be held at

on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. & 7-8 p.m. A service to celebrate Heidi's life will follow at 8 p.m. Cremation to follow. In kindness, memorial donations to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre or the Heart and Stroke would be appreciated.

To Heidi's family
Our families were intertwined from Riverside high school, we were best buds from then to now. We worked together from Brouillette Manor to Hotel Dieu and onward, she took such good care of my dad when he was dying at Met hospital, Heidi, I will miss you so much, although we didn't see each other as often as we would have liked, our paths seemed to cross at all kinds of other places when we least expected it. What a sweet, kind and beautiful woman you were, inside and out, you will be missed each and every day. Praying for the family, remember that she loved her children more than her own life, I remember when each and everyone of you were born and the excitement and great joy and happiness you brought her.
Heidi you were deeply loved in life and will be loved and remembered in death.

Heidi was my husband's nurse on 5 north for a month last November.He called her his girlfriend.She was kind & compassionate to him & to our family. I also work at Met & did get to see her after my husband came home.She will be greatly missed.Our prayers & condolences go out to her family.Heidi was a very special person & now she will be your Guardian Angel God Bless

Sparkling eyes that spoke of a love of life; a brilliant smile that would light up the room; a laugh you couldn't resist laughing along with. A warm, strong, healing hug when you felt your world was in darkness. Encouraging words, gentle care, respectful, dignified, graceful and gracious, a devilish spirit. I never had the opportunity to work with Heidi but had crossed paths many times over the year. She , as well as a couple of other nurses took such excellent care of my cousin while a patient on 4west and being a nurse in outpatient oncology we would see each other often in the hospital. I never saw this woman in any other mood but happy, What a beautiful angel heaven has acquired. This wonderful woman will be greatly missed

I had the priviledge of working and getting to know Heidi at WRH. She showed so much compassion and tenderness for the patients she cared for. Always quick with a laugh, a gentle spirit for sure. May you take comfort in knowing she was loved and there is a special place in heaven for her.

I also had the privilege of working with Heidi on 5N, just as I was starting my career as a new nurse. I remember Heidi for her experience, compassion, and professionalism. She was always willing to take the time to mentor the newer members of the team. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Heidi: A person with a laugh that would make you chuckle even if you were in another room. A person with such a twinkle in her eyes when she was excited about something--it was contageous. A person who would listen and offer words of encouragement no matter how heavy her own burden was. A person who would leave what she loved most rather than make things uncomfortable for others. A nurse who practiced with compassion, dignity and respect--one who you would be blessed to have care for you or your family. It has been an honor and a privilege to have known and worked with Heidi---This Angel will truly be missed!

Words alone cannot the express the pain involved in losing someone like my dear friend Heidi. My heart goes out to her beautiful family. I have many fond memories of working with Heidi when she and I were RPNs way back when. She was my inspiration to move on to become an RN. We shared so many fun times with her sister, Heather at Mexican Town and at each of their homes. Laughter was always #1 with Heidi. She always made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. She loved her family so much and bragged on them constantly. Heidi and my husband Randy shared the same birthday but she always said he MUST be older then her! I will truly miss my friend. We always tried to see each other when I came into town and go out for dinner. I am heartbroken. Our fond memories of Heidi will always be a source of happiness and the true meaning of friendship.

Rachel, My sister just called me to tell me about your mom... I'm just so heartbroken for you. She was such a wonderful woman and a great mother.
