Helen Abdalla Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 27, 2024.
Helen Abdalla, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, surrounded by her family at the age of 75.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on June 6, 1949, to Rose and John Kouri, Helen attended St. Maria Goretti High School. While working at her aunt's restaurant, Star's, she met her future husband Joseph Abdalla from Scranton. They married in 1968 and settled down in New Jersey in 1971, where they raised their two children, Christine and Maurice.

Helen is survived by her devoted husband Joseph, her children Christine (Kelsey III) and Maurice (Jane), her cherished grandchildren, Annabel, Kelsey IV, Sarah, Kate, and Jake, as well as her sister Rosemarie, beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

As a woman of strength and deep faith, Helen's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She was a passionate traveler, a gifted cook, and a woman of impeccable style. Helen's home was always filled with love, warmth, and the comforting smell of her homemade Lebanese food. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered for making everyone feel welcomed and loved.

Relatives & friends are invited to call on Monday from 9am at St. Maron Maronite Catholic Church 1013 Ellsworth St, Philadelphia, PA 19147 (corner of 10th & Ellsworth streets) for the reposing, with the Funeral Mass at 11am. Internment will follow at S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery 1600 S Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064. Funeral Arrangements under the direction of the Ronald Rex Piselli Funeral Chapels Inc.

My sincere condolences to Helen´s family & friends. I´m a fellow `67 SMG grad and even though we were not in the same "crowd," she is still a Goretti family member. Rest in peace, Helen.
