Attica - Helen Louise (Johnson) Dotson, 71, Attica, passed away in Autumn Trace, Attica, on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10:55 p.m. following a brief illness.

Helen was born in the Bronx, NY on August 9, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Carl Leonard and Ethel (Carlson) Johnson. She was raised in Danville, IL and graduated from Danville High School in 1964. She has lived most of her life in Attica. She later graduated from the Lakeview School of Nursing and was a registered nurse. She worked as a staff nurse for the Community Hospital in Williamsport and later with St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Prior to that she had worked at the Lakeview Hospital in Danville. She retired from nursing in 2011.

Helen was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and especially spending time with her four grandchildren. She also enjoyed her trips to Las Vegas.

On August 12, 1967, Helen married John Thomas Dotson in Attica.

Helen leaves behind her husband, Tom of nearly 51 years; her daughter, Tami (Todd) Mason, Attica; a son, David (Kim) Dotson, Attica; four grandchildren, Andrew Mason, Matthew Mason, Allison Dotson and Emily Dotson, all of Attica; a sister, Linda Carter, Virginia Beach, VA; a sister-in-law, Julia (Carl) Covely, Lafayette; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday, June 18th, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 19th, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Paws 'n Claws Animal Shelter.
