HELEN DUPLAIN Obituary
Age 94 formerly of 3710 21st Street N.W., Canton Passed away Friday afternoon, February 23, 2018 in Canton Christian home. Helen was born April 12, 1923 in Canton, the daughter of the late August "Gus" and Anna Rutkowski. Helen was a graduate of Timken High School and a Charter member of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Helen was a secretary to the President and Vice President of Central States Can Company in the early 1940s and in 1942 was the secretary to the Prosecuting Attorney in Yuma, AZ. After WWII she settled down as a homemaker with her family. Helen and her husband, Robert, founded Duplain Sheet Metal where she served as an officer. She was a member of AARP, Massillon K of C, member and former Officer of Timken High School Alumni Association where she was secretary and treasurer of three class reunions. She was a former member of the Canton Jaycees Auxiliary, and former member of the Ladies Guild of St. Michaels.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1990 with whom she celebrated 47 years of marriage, an infant daughter and her brother Joseph Rutkowski. She is survived by a son Thomas and Lynette Duplain of Canal Fulton; daughter Deborah and Phillip Soehnlen of Navarre. Grandchildren; Andrew P, William and Andrea and Brian (Jenny Arney) Soehnlen, Robert Duplain, Amy and John Eckrote, Great-grand-children; Addison and Alyssa Soehnlen, Joshua, Nathan and Isaac Eckrote and Tegan Duplain; sister-in-law Mary Rutkowski of Massillon.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday at 10:00a.m..in St. Michaels Church with Fr. Donald King as celebrant. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, Helen's family suggests that donations may be made to the Canton Christian Home Benevolent Fund. Those unable to attend may sign the online guestbook at www.dwilliamsfh.com.

Debbie and Tom, My deepest sympathy to all the family. Your mother was and is such a beautiful, humble, kind,and tender hearted woman. I am thankful to have had the pleasure of knowing Helen (at CCH). Helen had the gift of patience, and appreciation. I was blessed by the love which you Debbie, Tom, and your dear mother shared with one another. Your love did not go unnoticed. You have a great reunion to look forward to, when you all will be reunited, in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! May God's peace be with you always. With love and prayers, Carol
