Remembering Helen enjoyed sharing sports viewing with staff at Oakley..Go BULLS! Also a dance every now and then. A pleasure sharing military stories. She was loved by her family.

As a child and into my teens, my family would travel to Stockton and Freeport to visit my aunts, uncles and cousins . My visits to see Uncle Gene, Aunt June and Aunt Helen were the highlight of my summers. Helen was so fun, engaging and interested in our lives. She always had a smile and was an eager listener to our stories. Such a treasure!

I worked as a hairdresser at Oakley Court for many years when Helen moved there. I always loved to talk to her. She was a friend and classmate of my mother, Regina (Boyle)Hayes. We used to have great talks and I missed her when I moved from Forreston to Elizabeth. Once in Elizabeth, I started working at the Elizabeth Nursing Home and Assisted Living Facility. It was much closer for me to drive there than the 30 miles to Freeport and I left a lot of very nice residents behind when I quit. I used to think of Helen quite a bit and wondered how things were going for her. I'd like to give her family my deepest sympathy and will keep Helen and all of you in my prayers. God bless you all!
