Judy and Jane,

It was a sad moment for me when I heard of your mother's passing. I only recently came into your lives but just as your childhood friends have mentioned your mom always made me feel welcome and really a part of your family. There was never a time when we visited her that she didn't take the time to talk and she always made sure we had something to eat or a cold glass of ice tea. She lived her life well and it is a testament to her life that your childhood friends as well as your adult friends share the same stories about her hospitality and ability to make all feel welcome. You will miss her I am sure but you do have your memories and your faith in God to see you through this difficult time. I will be talking with you over the next few days and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Give my sympathy to your brothers and sisters, too. Love you both.

Jane, Judy, Mike, and Jeff,

I am so saddened to hear of the loss of your mother.

I must agree with my sister and say she was a great "neighborhood Mom". Some of the best memories of my life are of times spent at your house when we were younger. She always made me, and my brothers and sisters feel most welcomed. No matter the circumstances or situation, she always made room for one more at dinner time, or would squeeze one more in to spend the night, so us kids could have more time to play or hang out together.

I have a vivd memory of her cooking...she made the best fried chicken...so tasty. I remember one evening she was cooking and she let me make the gravy. She had never made white gravy like my Mom makes and I told her I knew how to make it. Little did she know I had never actually made it...I had just watched my own Mom make it. Well, she let me make it while she watched. It turned out great and the family loved it, especially Jeff.

As you remember your own special times with your Mom, may you hold those memories close. Those special memories are what help us through the difficult moments of our grief.

Sorry to read the passing of your mother.She was one of my mother best friend when she came from England. So from mom family to yours we will say a prayer for you all.

I am so sorry to hear of your Mom passing. She was a great lady, and a great neighborhood "Mom". The best kind that did not hesitate to discipline us when we needed it.

I can vividly picture the neighborhood talent shows she let us organize where we charged the neighbors to come watch. I remember her fudge that hardened just right, but my best memories are the mountain songs that she taught us. Her home was a joyful place and never too full to welcome in a few more stray neighborhood kids.

I know you will miss her. You are in my prayers.

Jeff and all of the Fuller family, I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I was just released from the hospital today and was not able to attend the funeral, but you were in my thoughts and prayers.Please call if I can do anything to help you. Jerry Roe

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of you mother....she was such a sweet person and I have fond memories of her from our childhood.

I remember her so well from when we were youngsters playing and spending time together...her house was just like a second home to us kids...we always knew we were welcome there and memories as such are never forgotten.

May God wrap His loving arms around each of you during this most difficult time...its rough...because I have been there.

you are all in our thoughts at this time. Helen loved her family ! She was friends with my granny & pawpaw Simcox and I could listen to her all day tell about their friendship on Shakesvill Road. As a previous employee of NHC 17 years, I took care of Helen at times. She always had a smile even when she felt bad. Keep the Memories of your mom in your heart.
