Helen (Scott) King

Helen Jean (Scott) King passed away peacefully Mar 2, 2023 in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 87. She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy, of 69 years.

Born August 6, 1935 in Paducah, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Horace (Pet) Valentine Scott Jr. and Vassie Lee Blagg Scott. She is predeceased by her brothers, Frank Scott, Francis Scott, Bob Scott, Bill Scott, Tommy Scott, Charles (Jughead) Scott, and her sister, Pauline Scott Love. She is survived by her sisters, Sue Scott Gibbs and Brenda Scott Simmons.

Helen and Jimmy were married on August 7, 1953 and had 7 children, Bridget Martin, Pam Mikalonis (Dave), Rusty King (Peggy), Terry King, Roy King (Laura), Nancy King and Scott King.

They were blessed with 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Her love for others is what we remember when we think of her. She never met a stranger and was always reaching out to help others. She treated everyone with kindness and respect. She always welcomed them with open arms and sought to meet their needs. She truly had a heart of gold.

Everyone loved "Mrs. King". Our house was the neighborhood house to go to. She made each and every person feel special. Her love for kids was easily known. She taught Sunday school, served in junior church, worked at daycare and then taught in elementary school. She also worked in both boy scouts and girl scouts.

To honor Helen's memory, a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Trail's West Club House, 8401 S Kolb Rd, Tucson, AZ from 1:00-4:00. We invite anyone who knew her to attend and remember her wonderful life.
