Helen Manning

Helen Manning, 84 of Dennison, passed away on Monday February 17, 2025, at Northfield Hospital.

Helen was born on May 12, 1940, in Nerstrand, MN, to Alois and Helen (Kent) Feldman. Helen graduated from Northfield High School, and attended Rochester Vocational School of Nursing where she graduated in 1959.

After graduation and before starting her nursing career, Helen travelled to Europe with her parents visiting Germany, Holland and Switzerland. Helen then travelled across the United States with her cousin, Marie Dierking. After her travels, she worked at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park From 1963-1970.

Helen married Jerome Manning on September 7, 1970 and moved to Dennison on July 1972 where they raised their two sons, John and Michael. After raising her sons, she went back to work as a nurse with Northfield Retirement Center where she retired on January, 2006.

Helen was a member of St. Michael's Church in Kenyon. She enjoyed watching hockey, traveling and crocheting the many afghans and yarn dolls throughout her life. Helen was a very hard working, caring individual that rarely sat still and always ready to help out.

She is survived by her sons, John (Janice) of Elysian and Michael (Megan) of Cannon Falls; three grandchildren, Kira, Kyle and Mason; and brothers, Jim (Maralee) of Northfield and Bernard (Betty) of Kenyon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; parents; and brother, Garhardt.

A Word Service will occur at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 19,, 2025, at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield, MN, followed by a Celebration of Helen's life from 2:00 to 4:30 PM, at the Northfield Golf Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Assocation.
