Helen Bishop Miller BRISTOL, Tenn. Helen Bishop Miller, age 84, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2011, at Wellmont Hospice House. She was born on Jan. 28, 1927, in Cincinnati to the late Elizabeth and Karl Bishop. Helen was a longtime resident of Bristol, an active member of the Dorca's Circle of Walnut Grove and a member of the FCE Club. She was a past member of Bristol Eastern Star Chapter 28. Helen loved working in her flowers and doing needle work plus spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Miller; her mother, Elizabeth Upp Bishop; father, Karl Bishop; three brothers and three sisters, and son-in-law, Tom Garritson. Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Miller Garritson, and Drucilla Miller Mumpower and husband, Paul; son, Kevin Miller and wife, Phyllis; grandsons, Bradford Mumpower, Gregory Mumpower and wife, Natalie; great-grandchildren, Katherine Mumpower and Nicholas Mumpower; favorite niece, Helen Singleton; and brother, Joe Asher. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, from the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Markel officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marty Geiger, Harry Heltzel, Robert Latham, Allen Mumpower, Curtis Murray, and Bob White. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Weaver Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of fourth floor west wing and the critical care physicians and staff at Wellmont Bristol Medical Center. They would also like to thank the physicians and staff at Wellmont Hospice House as well as the Cambridge House staff for the excellent care they provided.
