Add memories that will last forever

Not sure what to say?

August 17, 2014

During the last 35 years I had an amazing friendship with one of the sweetest people God put on this earth. Remembering her will be easy because of all the great memories we shared and because I have an ache in my heart that will never completely go away. But it's an ache that I welcome as it brings to mind all the crazy fun things we did together. She was always happy and ready for whatever came her way. Helen Parrott will be greatly missed and we will keep her in our hearts forever. Love, Tom & Darla

So sorry to hear about your Mom, Libbie. I so enjoyed working with her at Aikin . Loved her sense of humor and her kindness to all- children , parents, and coworkers. Her pasta salad that she made for pig-outs was always a big hit and has been passed on to others. We all have wonderful memories of Helen to treasure!

Libbie, as you know, your mom was a very special person. I so enjoyed working with her at Block and knowing her outside the office. I'm sure she was loved by everyone who knew her. She was so proud of you and your family, she just beamed with pride at the mention of you name. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of all her friends and family.

On this sad occasion for your family, I hope you take comfort in picturing your beautiful, godly mom relaxed, out of pain, and smiling with the angels as she was welcomed into heaven. I know Jesus and all of the heavens were rejoicing as described in Psalm 116:15. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones.” I'll keep your sweet family in my prayers.

I enjoyed the years I worked with your mom. She was that friendly face you needed when your day got off to a rough start. I remember at retreats being "wowed" that she could take all her pills at one time. She always put a smile on my face. Rest in peace, Helen. My prayers are with you Libbie and your family.

Libbie, your mom was a very special lady who made a positive impact on everyone she met. The kids at Aikin loved her and she loved them. I cherish the 20 years we worked and played together. Did she ever love playing Bunco!! Thank you for sharing Helen with all of us. She will be missed.

Helen was truly a joy to be around!!! She LOVED Bunco, and was quite the competitor!! It was always a joy to have her sub in our group - she fit right in with us, and always had some story to share that would get us all laughing!! She was the kind of person who never met a stranger, and she was always so interested in hearing about how you were doing. I also believe that she never forgot a child - my son was a student at Aikin through the third grade, but she wanted to hear all about him as a high school student! She was truly a blessing to all who knew her, and I can just imagine her in Heaven right now getting caught up with all who have gone before her!

I enjoyed all the years we were together at Aikin, especially when she was with Mrs. Lankau in the library. However, the true joy of Helen was always so obvious at our scrapbook gatherings! Helen was our entertainer - she told great stories and made us laugh till we cried!! Your wonderful laugh and smile will always be remembered, Helen.

After Joey died, Helen pulled me aside one day in the Aikin library and said, "You know, I remember Joey from when he was little. He went to elementary school with Libbie."
We shared a tearful hug, and after that, I always felt a special closeness to Helen.
I know she'll give him a special hug just for me.

I've had this picture on my refrigerator for years. I love this pic of the two of us. Helen HathawayParrott has been one of my best friends from the day I set foot at Aikin. There are very few like her left. I remember our trip to Colorado to see my sister. Maggie was still in her car seat. Great trip and wonderful memories. Helen never met a stranger. Everyone who met her loved her!
