When I was in afternoon kindergarten, my mother had to work and would have to leave the house before I left on the bus. To work this out, Helen would pick me up mid-morning. We would eat lunch together on the bus, parked under a tree somewhere and chatting, then she would start her afternoon run and deliver all of us safely to school and back home again. I always felt special doing that. She's still one of my earliest memories. I remember her being so nice and kind. She will be missed here, but definetly will find a home in Heaven.

Diane, Veva,Mary jo, I just read about Helens passing. God Bless you all, and keep her memory at heart.I so enjoyed being her and Uncle Teds neighbor for years. She was so kind and enjoyed "doing things" Meeting with friends and fellow drivers. Actually I never knew she was the first female driver for Western High. She never bragged about herself. She will truly be missed.

Iam so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful lady. I know she will always have a special place in my heart. She was my Bus driver in the 70's and she always knew how to start your day right with her beautiful smile. I just love her so much. Heaven is rejoicing to welcome this beautiful angel home. I know the angels will comfort all of you through this difficult time. She was definitely blessed here on earth and loved by all. God bless, Sincerely, Theresa Handshoe and family

So sad to see Helens obituary in the paper today. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Whaqt a beautiful lady. I will forever cherish fond school bus memories when I was the lucky one to have her for my bus driver. She took the best care of us getting to school everyday and always started our day with her beautiful smile GoodMorning". That was in the 70's. Then in 1983 I graduated and I was so histatic to see her after all those years.
