Helen Harmon Sorrell
1920 – 2010
HILLSBORO – Helen Harmon Sorrell, age 89, of Sunset Road, Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at her residence.
Born October 15, 1920, in Floyd County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Virgie Blackburn Harmon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Lewis Hill.
Her husband, Kenneth O. "Kenny" Sorrell, preceded her in death on July 14, 2001.
Mrs. Sorrell is survived by one daughter, Linda Hunt and husband George of
Hillsboro, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Jill Story Price and husband Blake of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, Bryan P. Story and wife Trish of Hillsboro, Kentucky, and Tracy Carol Robbins and Jim Ed Hill, both of Indiana; nine great grandchildren; and special caregiver, Sue Bradley.
Mrs. Sorrell retired from the Hillsboro Post Office after 32 years as Postmaster.
Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at the Hillsboro Cemetery with Brother Gerald Saunders officiating.
Pallbearers will be Barry Manning, Tommy Joe Sorrell, Sammy Sorrell, Jim Ed Hill, Bryan P. Story, Blake Price, and Harold Ray Humphries.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at the Hutton Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Kentucky.
