Helen Wallace Obituary
Isburg Funeral Chapel Helen Wallace, 83, of Pierre, South Dakota passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Mary House in Pierre.
Helen Etta Vetter was born June 11, 1939 in Gettysburg, SD, to David and Ethel (Hall) Vetter. Helen, together with her siblings, one brother and three sisters, spent their childhood years in Gettysburg where Helen graduated from the Gettysburg High School. She met her husband, Robert, while living in Gettysburg and after their marriage on September 14, 1957 they moved to Mobridge. They welcomed their son, Robert S. Wallace, and in 1959 they moved to Pierre. Helen joined the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Pierre. She took calls and shared information at the telephone company for the next 21 years. Following her employment with the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company she went to work for the next 18 years at the May, Adam, Gerdes Law Firm in Pierre.
Helen was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Telephone Pioneers and her favorite past time was quilting.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, her son, Robert S. Wallace, three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents.
