Helena WEBB

My sincerest of sympathy to Helena´s family and loved ones. Just heard of her untimely passing; had a nice conversation with her, several months ago, at a Celebration if Life for the founder of Lissard House, at Langdon Hall. She loved her job and was good at it. Always had the College and its students in the forefront of all her decisions and was extremely efficient as I recall. Met Helena in the 1990´s and had numerous interactions with her during my 8+ years working with the College. May she Rest In Peace; she made a difference. Frania Banks

Though Helena and I lost contact a while ago she was someone I always thought of as intelligent, hard working, practical and a fun person. I was saddened to hear just recently that she has died. My thoughts go to her family and her partner, John, as they endure their loss.

Helena was a pleasure to work with over my years at Conestoga College and she could always be relied upon to help resolve difficult situations. She was a true professional who was also interested in how others were doing.

I am so sorry to hear of Helena's passing. I met Helena in 2003 at Conestoga then got to know her when we worked on the "Family Campaign" and I was so impressed with her intellect, knowledge, beautiful use of words, and her commitment to the work of the college. She will be missed by many. I wish I had gotten to work with her more.

My deepest sympathies to Helena's family and friends on her passing.

January 2nd, Helena's birthday. Despite the vast geographical miles between us we always remembered and marked each other's birthdays.1950-1956 my friend in primary school and as was the fashion ribbon bows in our hair. As scholarship girls in secondary school, 1956-1961 we grew into young women, sharing the pain and pleasures of those years-important moments and explorations, homework, relationships, clubbing, travelling, amongst a few key memories. Our younger years passed, our paths diverged, but our early history remains intertwined, powerful and influential. I will miss sharing, reminiscing. I will miss my friend.

Helena was my Sister. She left Manchester to go to Canada when I was a year old. Over the years our visits to each other have been numerous. Her Humour was my humour, we got that from our Mum. We had rituals. When she would come and stay with me, we would get all the old family Pictures out, sit on the floor, and laugh and cry at them. We always watched Brief Encounter, with a box of tissues. She adored Liquorice, and I remember walking round Chester with her, a bag of Liquorice in hand, smiling. We went to the Jewish Museum together and could not believe it when we found a Document from the Midwife who delivered our Father in 1918, his name written in her book. The memories are too numerous to mention. The pictures I have chosen are of our wonderful Mum and Dad, taken in 1941, and a picture of myself and Helena taken in 2009. There is also a Yahrzeit Candle which I have lit for her. xxx

I am so sorry to hear of Helena's passing, and want to send my most heartfelt sympathies to you, John, and to Helena's family. She was a remarkable woman and I was lucky to have had her as a friend. My thoughts and prayers as you grieve this loss.

Sorry to hear that Helena has passed. She was an incredible woman who championed Conestoga College values and mission. Helena was student focused and inclusive. She was collaborative and innovative. Helena expected accountability from all. She was an excellent example of a strong dynamic woman who quietly helped navigate the college in its new initiatives. Helena was someone you could trust.
I hope your family has many happy memories to help you during this time.
