Pawpaw Barlow lived his faith. He loved and gave generously of himself to all his family and friends. I remember him best for his cooking (beef tenderloin on the grill), fun parties around the pool, and especially the time he spent with his grandchildren (my nieces and nephews). He was one of a kind and is greatly missed. So many are stronger today because of his kindness and the memory of his love. Love you, Mawmaw Barlow!

The only house I felt more welcome in, was my own. Pete always had a smile on his face even if you were waking him up at 4AM to go fishing with Ken and Bob. And Mrs. Carol was always eager the fill you up with home cooking. He raised a great family, and was a proud papa. he will be missed by all who knew him. Keeping the entire Barlow family in our prayers in this time of sorrow.

Mr. Pete was a kind and gentle man. As one of his IBM family my dad and Pete Barlow were lifelong friends for 60 years. They fished and hunted together throughout. Our family and the Barlows spent fun times together so many years ago. I will always remember Pete and Carol Barlow as my parents friends. Mr Pete made great effort to come visit my dad in the hospital, rehab, and at the house before his passing. My dad always enjoyed his visits. Hopefully they are reminiscing right now. Thanks Mr Pete.

Mr. Pete was truly an amazing man. He taught us all the Barlow way! I will treasure my memories of him always. I am lucky to have loved him and been loved by him. He is the best paw-paw the kids could ever have! The ambrosia won't be the same this holiday without Mr. Pete's expert guidance but we will do our best.

Mr. Pete was quite the character. Always laughing and telling stories. I was lucky to befriend Mr. Pete and Mrs. Carol through my friendship with their daughter Jan. They were so pleasant and welcoming. We enjoyed trips, holidays and other gatherings over many years. Mrs. Carol, I wish peace to you and your family. Embrace knowing how fortunate you were to have Mr. Pete in your lives and for as long as you all did. I truly believe that you all will see him again.

When I read this I told my wife... "what a nice guy"
Pete was great to work with. I echo the sentiments expressed by several of the folks, names I remember from years ago, that posted messages here. RIP Pete.

One of the nicest men I've ever known. You wonder where did he get his sunny disposition from. Maybe it is Carol's doing. We will miss you, Pete. I'm proud that we share three grandchildren.

Wow, what a wonderful man! Always had a smile on his face and a joke on the way. From Good Drive and DiBenedetto in "da east" to Slidell, he spread joy and laughter to everyone he met. Miss Carol, Bob, Ken, Beth and Jan, so sorry for your loss. He will be missed!

You will be missed soooo missed by your family and friends and especially by me, Mr. Pete.
I remember going by your home in Lakeland Terrace with Kenny B....as we called him, to eat dinner on occasion or just to stop by when Kenny and I were running the streets. Hehehe You and Mrs. Carol ALWAYS welcomed me with open arms and treated me like a son. I love both of you very much!
Love and will miss you more than you could ever know. Our families prayers are with you and your family during this sad time.
RIP Mr. Pete and may God bless you in heaven.

Ebb Tide, Grand Bayou, Eddies Pass, the Carol Ann..those were the days we enjoyed and cherished. Such good company and fun with Pete and the boys. As time passes, memories remain. God does not deduct from mans allotted time for those hours spent fishing. As we mature our ability to do the things we like becomes limited. In our sunny days we had many great gatherings. He was such a great fellow.

To Miss Carol and all the Barlow family, please accept all of our love and condolences on the passing of Mr. Pete. He was a great man and one of a kind. From a very early age I remember how close our families were and the many good times we had together. My parents cherished their friendship with Miss Carol and Mr. Pete. He and daddy were great friends. I remember fondly the fishing
trips we took when Ken, Bob, and I were little. I always looked forward to seeing Mr. Pete because I knew he had some good jokes and stories to tell us. Many years ago when I got a job in Houston and had to move, I will never forget him telling me watch out for those fast Texas women! He was right. Daddy always took pleasure in telling me about the fishing trips he and Mr. Pete took after they retired. Mr. Pete was a great friend to daddy right to the very end, making frequent visits and brightening his remaining days when he was in hospice. I was there on several of those occasions and it was just like I was a little kid again listening to him talk. I will never forget that twinkle in his eye and that smile on his face. Daddy would always say with a smile after he left man, that Pete is something else! He was right. I take comfort in knowing those two old buddies are together again. God bless yall and God bless Mr. Pete. I will never forget him. With all my love, Ray Ray

I will never forget that laugh or the time Pete & Joe tried to get that little catamaran out of the harbor in Destin, without running into that expensive yacht . They were laughing so hard, they could hardly stand up & the yacht owner was turning purple.
They did make it. What a memory. Just one of so many. Rest In Peace, Pete.
