Harry Cobb, Uomo Universale, architect, intellect and, above all, gentleman. He marked the course of my life and career as an architect, for as the jury chairman for the American Academy's Rome Prize in Architecture, I was selected to spend a year in Rome as the Rome Prize winner at the American Academy. More than the prize, itself, my interview for the prize was my first encounter with this extraordinary man, who imparted to me not only his gift of sharing his knowledge but for sharing his supreme gift high-mindedness. When I lived in Rome at the Academy Harry and his family would often frequent the Academy and how happy I was to have the ongoing opportunity to sit by him and his family during meals in the Academy cortille and listen to his thoughts on architecture and his love of Rome.
Harry continued, as he did with all of of that he came in contact with, to remain a life long supporter of my career and trajectory. His loyalty to all he knew was huge. I salute you Harry, and I thank you.
