Christine, Deborah and Danielle,
I want to extend my most sincere condolences to you during this most difficult time in your lives. I felt honored to be able to share a short amount of time with Joe and Christine a few years back at the ASCO meetings in Chicago. You have all been such an inspiration and life line to so many for so many years. I honestly don't know what so many of us would have done with you both. May Joe rest in peace and live on in the hearts and minds of so many. He truly was an amazing man. How often do you find someone who is willing to devote themselves to such an important cause. With gratitude and thanks,
Rina Schneiderman

This news comes to me as a shock, and saddens me to learn of Joe's passing. The Her2Support site on the net, Joe's brainchild, was my personal Godsend. I am as alive and well as I am as a result of that site. My prayers for his family are added to the many others already being offered. Thank you, and God Bless!

Christine, Danielle, And Deborah, When I was diagnosed at 37 with stage 4 breast cancer and I found this site, Joe actually personally emailed me back with their home phone number if I needed to ask any questions. The members, messages and information brought me so much HOPE. I try to pass this hope to others as I was gifted from their lessons and hope, and 5 years later I am still fighting, but doing it in style as I have learned from others. I as well did not know he was ill. I believe that without this web site of unequelled passion, hope, information, and "Junk yard DOG" persistence of advocacy, I would not be here today, or as hopefull as I am. Chritine there is no more pain as he sits with GOD and watches over you and waits to see you again. May God give you peace and comfort. Darita Pfeister

In memory of Joe,
Joe and Christine have touched so many lives and I just want to share my story. When in 2008 I found myself fighting the battle of my life with her2+ breast cancer, I turned to Joe and Christine’s support site. It was a God send and I met so many wonderful people and it really helped me through one of the worst times of my life.

Thank you Joe and may you rest in heavenly peace with our Lord.

Our angel on earth has become our heavenly angel. I know I feel a bit lost and drifting, Joe was a giant among men. He was a force of nature, the commanding General in the HER2 Army. His knowledge, clout, and determination to fight for a cure for his beloved Christine and all of us attached to their support site was profound. He positively affected thousands of lives, saving many, extending many, and comforting many.

Joe, I am proud to have known you and to be a part of your team. I have learned so much from your wisdom and perseverance.

We have been so blessed by your time on this earth. It will never be the same without you, but we will strive to carry on your legacy and make you proud. We will represent you well at SABCS, and you will be deeply missed.

I know you are in the ear of the man upstairs at this very moment... advocating and pushing for answers and a cure. For that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We will do our best to take care of your precious girls, Christine, Danielle and Deborah.

Joe was a wonderful man who touched more lives and saved more lives than any of us will ever know.

I sincerely hope his dedication and legacy will live on through all of us with his selfless and enduring crusade to eradicate breast cancer all over the world

Joe was dedicated to the Her2 Support Group and the people the site served. We were an extension of his wonderful family.

I will forever miss Joe

August 19, 2010

Dear Joe and Christine,
Few people get the opportunity to touch so many lives so deeply, as you both have.
Thank you for your tireless advocacy for all of us, as well as for inviting us into your "home" a well as your hearts.

I write this through tears, feeling as though we are all orphans now. But you should also know I cannot think of you without smiling - thinking of the two of you in your playful moments and Joe with that twinkle in his eyes.

You've left footprints on my heart and I am forever blessed for having known you.
