Henry Earl Farley

Henry Earl Farley began his earthly journey on April 14, 1948 in the town of Campti, Louisiana. He was the son of the late Joe and Allavine Farley, and the eighth of eleven children. At the age of 76 Henry transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Wynhoven Community Care Center.



He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Allavine Farley, brothers: Ernest Farley, Joe Farley, Jr. (Grace) and Robert Farley and his sisters: Rosetta Snell and Olar Mae Bell Weeks.



Henry accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 11 and was baptized at St. Peter Baptist Church in Campti, Louisiana, where he also became a junior deacon. Henry was a member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church for many years. He was a member of the Beautification Ministry at one time and he enjoyed taking care of the plants outside the church. He had a profound love for the outdoors, finding immense joy in activities such as gardening, fishing and taking leisurely scenic drives.



Henry graduated from Campti Preston High School and attended Southern University for 2 years.

Henry served in the United States Navy in active duty from 1969 to 1971. During that time, he served in the Vietnam War and received several awards. Dedicating himself to military service, he then enlisted in the Naval Reserve. Henry worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for over 35 years, until his retirement in December 2011.



Henry leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 47 years Gale Farley, his daughters Dana Farley Shih (Andrew), Chantrell Farley Williams (Matthew) and his sons, Freddy Lakey and Kyle Williams. He had six grand-children, Zoe Williams, Zía Williams, Cameron Shih, Ashley Lakey, Freddie Lakey, Jr., Jayden Lakey and three great- grandchildren Karter Harris, Nyla Harris and Constance Lakey, his siblings Mose Farley (Clara), Mary Ann Farley Brooks, Matthew Farley, Elma Jean Farley Alexander (Sammie), Brenda Joyce Farley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.



Henry's passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those he touched. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was loved deeply and will be dearly missed.
