JAMES CHARLIE "J.C." ALLMON

ALLMON, JAMES CHARLIE (J.C.) "Papaw" a veteran of WWII passed away at his home, September 4, 2013, at the age of 87. J.C. was a member of the First Baptist Church of Philadelphia for fifty years. He was retired from Vestal Manufacturing Co. in Sweetwater. Preceded in death by his wife of 61 years: Betty Jo Hicks Allmon; his parents; 8 brothers and sisters. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law: Steve and Diane Allmon, of Sweetwater, Greg Allmon, of Philadelphia; daughter and son-in-law: Cindy and Bryon Jackson, of Farragut; grandchildren include: Misty and Mike Newman, Jamie and Robbie Hicks, Rachel and Jay Berendzen and Luke and Tasha Allmon; great-grandchildren: Kyle, Kaleb, and Kallie Allmon, Jaycee, Jaida and Luke Newman, Bella, Hicks, and Andrew Berendzen; brothers and sisters-in-law: Verlin and Mary Allmon, Billy Joe and Margaret Allmon; sisters and brother-in-law: Delois Sue and Buddy Roy, Shelvia Jean Raby; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be deacons of First Baptist Church of Philadelphia, and Kyle Allmon. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to the building fund of First Baptist Church, of Philadelphia. The family will receive friends on Friday September 6, 2013 from 4:00P.M. until 8:00P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 8:00P.M. in the Sweetwater Memory Chapel with Rev. Brian Courtney and Rev. Steve Allmon officiating. Interment 11:00A.M. Saturday in the Sweetwater Memorial Park, with full military honors provided by the Sweetwater Gold Star Post 5156, members of the Monroe County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 93. Sweetwater Memory Chapel in charge of the arrangements.
